  Conservation Authorities  
     
 

Birdlife International -- A global partnership of conservation organizations that strives to conserve birds, their habitats and global biodiversity, working with people towards sustainability in the use of natural resources.

 
   
  CITES -- The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora is an international agreement between governments. Its aim is to ensure that international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants does not threaten their survival.  
   
  IUCN Red List -- The World Conservation Union, through its Species Survival Commission (SSC) has, for more than four decades, been assessing the conservation status of species, subspecies, varieties and even selected subpopulations on a global scale in order to highlight taxa threatened with extinction, and therefore promote their conservation.  
     
     
  Parrot Conservation  
     
  World Parrot Trust -- The objective of the Trust is to promote the survival of all parrot species and the welfare of individual birds. It pursues these aims by funding field conservation work, research projects and educational programs.This website also includes a comprehensive encyclopedia of parrot species.  
     
  Parrots International -- Parrots International is an all volunteer organization whose team is dedicated to the conservation of endangered parrot species and improving the welfare of both companion parrots and parrots in the wild. They are committed to working cooperatively with other conservation organizations for the maximum benefit of the birds.

  Feral Parrot Populations in San Francisco - Joe Morlan's page describing the naturalized parrots of San Francisco.   
     
  Monk Parakeets in North America - This site is written and maintained by Kathleen Carr, a researcher and authority on Monk Parakeets. She intends to provide an ongoing, real-time survey of feral Monk Parakeet colonies in North America, using information from volunteer citizen-scientists and to provide an online resource about Monk Parakeets and related topics.   
     
  Peach-faced Lovebird - A webpage discussing the naturalized Peach-faced Lovebirds in Arizona with range expansion data in the greater Phoenix area.  
     
  Project Parakeet - A doctoral study of the Rose-ringed Parakeets of Great Britain by Christopher Butler.  
     
  Santa Barbara Bird Farm -- Harry and Phoebe Linden have documented their local flock of naturalized Lilac-crowned Parrots for more than 30 years.  
     
  Wild Parrots of San Francisco's Telegraph Hill - The site for the wild parrots of San Francisco's Telegraph Hill, with much information provided by Mark Bittner, who was the caretaker and recorder from 1993-99, of the life of this feral flock of mostly Cherry-Headed Conures (Parakeets).
